I attended the launch of Mahindra Xylo 2012 new model in New Delhi India on 8th of Feb 2012, I witnessed the launch, spend some time with the car up and close, clicked pictures, recorded video and had a close look at the features, quality and visual characteristics of the new Xylo. In this article I will share my first impression of the Xylo 2012. We will bring you a test drive review soon when we get behind the wheel. First of all, for all those criticizing that Mahindra has not made major changes to the new Xylo, I would say that I disagree with you. World Champion of Formula 1 2011 Indian Grand Prix, the Red Bull Racing team has revealed the official pictures and video of their next challenger car, RB8, the F1 2012 car for Red Bull Racing team for the coming season. The RB8 is a composite monocoque structure which uses Renault V8 engine. It has a 7 speed transmission with hydraulic clutch and powershift system. The front and rear suspension of the RB8 use aluminum alloy uprights with carbon composite double wishbone design with springs and anti-rill bar with multimatic dampers. Mahindra and Mahindra has increased the priced of Mahindra XUV500 in January 2012, the bookings were not open at that time. The reason for price increase were two – rising input costs and introductory pricing prior to the price increase. Mahindra opened the booking for just 10 days for next round of bookings between 25th January 2012 to 3rd Feb 2012 in 19 cities of India and voila – there is another 25000 + bookings received in just 10 days ! Isn't that a huge number. In first phase of booking after its launch in Sep 2011 end, the bookings received from the 5 states in 10 days was over 8000. M&M can deliver about 7200 units in next 2 to 3 months of time so there will be a lucky draw for confirming which customers get the delivery in this phase. Year 2012 has started off with a good beat for luxury car maker Audi in India. In January 2012 Audi India has sold an impressive 667 units of cars compared to 480 cars sold in the same month last year which is a strong 39% growth. Yamaha India celebrated the first month of this New Year 2012 with high sales growth. Backed by its dynamic product portfolio, Yamaha India registered an overall sales growth of 40% in January 2012 compared to the same month in 2011. Scania Commercial Vehicles India will set up a plant in Narasapura Industrial Area, Bangalore. This plant will serve as a Complete Knock Down (CKD) assembly unit for truck and bus chassis during phase 1 of operations. Bus body building of city buses and coaches and service workshops for trucks and buses will also be part of this facility at a later point of time. Scania will employ up to 800 people in this facility over the next five years. Scania had last year announced its plans for India and the growing importance of India for Scania globally. Hyundai Motor Company, in collaboration with KOICA and PLAN Korea, will launch a project to help youth in under-developed areas support themselves by setting up technical training center for automobile repair in several African nations. Starting with Ghana, Hyundai will build automobile repair training schools in Africa and Asia in a continuous cycle of construction. The repair training school in Koforidua, Ghana, called Hyundai-KOICA Dream Centre, will open in September 2012 with a three-year program, admitting about 300 students. Hyundai will support the establishment of the school, from paying teachers to developing curriculum. Graduates with good school records will be offered jobs at Hyundai Service Centers. Statistics available from the Ghana Statistics Service 2006 Report indicate that about 250,000 young people enter the labor market annually; they range from university graduates to junior high dropouts. Only 2 percent, or fewer than 5,000 Ghanaian youth, secure traditional employment. Premier To Set Up New Dealerships And Service Stations By June 2012–To Aide Rio Sales & After Sales Service

Premier initially could not get the required attention with the launch of Premier Rio but the 2012 Premier Rio is a bit more promising that its predecessor and has managed to bring the brand in the limelight(we are not talking about sales here). Most importantly now the company has a BS IV equipped Rio which could be sold in the 13 major cities where BS IV norms are under implementation.
